In meeting the commitment of this policy, George Weston Foods Limited will: - Demonstrate commitment and leadership through all its managers, supervisors, employees and contractors.
- Clearly define health and safety responsibilities for managers, supervisors, employees and contractors and review these responsibilities annually.
- Work to eliminate or, where not practicable, minimise hazards and eliminate practices that could cause incidents, injuries and illnesses.
- Utilise the framework of the Australian and New Zealand standard regarding workplace occupational health and safety systems (AS/NZ 4801), to integrate health and safety into our general business management systems and to achieve the highest standards of health and safety.
- As a minimum, actively comply with all applicable health and safety laws.
- Incorporate health and safety into the business planning cycle so that objectives can be set, plans formulated and performance measures determined for the purpose of continually improving our management systems.
- Involve all people who work for GWF or at GWF’s sites in identifying, assessing and controlling workplace hazards and in reviewing GWF’s health and safety performance.
- Allocate resources to meet the commitments of this policy.
